Attention Verizon Members:
IF YOU FILED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT DURING THE STRIKE AND RECEIVED A DENIAL DETERMINATION LETTER, YOU MUST APPEAL INDIVIDUALLY.
Your appeal rights are printed on the determination letter you received from the Department of Labor.
To file an appeal, you must mail a written appeal to the address shown on the determination letter within ten (10) days from the date the determination was mailed or seven (7) days from its delivery. This date is also printed on the determination letter. Your appeal must be received or postmarked within on of the appeal periods.
In your appeal, give the following reason for disagreeing with the determination:
I appeal this denial because I am entitled to unemployment benefits. I have been on strike since April 13, 2016 and will not return to work until June 1, 2016.
Be certain that your Full Name, Social Security Number, Address and Telephone number are included in your appeal.
IF YOU ARE REJECTED AGAIN BY THE APPEALS TRIBUNAL – YOU MUST APPEAL AGAIN.
WE MAY EVENTUALLY END UP IN COURT, BUT IF WE WIN, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR BACK UNEMPLOYMENT IF YOU DID NOT APPEAL.
