CWA Local 1032 reports a successful organizing effort among 37 crossing guards in Wayne Township. The group built their support to more than 70% signed up and then received certification through card check at the NJ Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) on June 10th. The bargaining committee is prepared with proposals and about to start negotiations on their first contract. Local Organizer Mickey Santiago led the organizing effort and is also leading the committee in first contract negotiations. This organizing campaign is part of an overall effort to strengthen the Local’s membership and activism in Passaic County.
